Web Hosting And Domain Names

There is a group who are campaigning for Scotland to get its own Top Level Domain name. Here is a paragraph from their website:

"dotSCOT (SC347721), i is a not-for-profit company that campaigns for the creation a new community generic top level internet domain of ‘.scot’ to represent an online identity for the worldwide family of Scots.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) proposes to expand the number of generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) and will invite applications once the consultation period is completed.

dotSCOT has been campaigning since 2005 to achieve its aim and has secured support for the bid from Scots around the world. dotSCOT has worked closely with the Scottish Government to develop the bid."
